The average catch can feature more than two dozen different species of fish, from yellowtail to halibut and bass. Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching offers guided sportfishing tours to local fishing spots where they will teach you tricks of the trade. Catalina Island day trips take you where the big fish are and it is not uncommon to catch a magnificent 50- or 60-pound fish. Dana Point sportfishing options include kayak fishing or ocean fishing. These excursions can get you all deck out with rental gear and have you ready for an incredible day on the ocean in no time.

Boating in Orange County
Boating on the bay or ocean is a breeze in Orange County's beach communities.
A fun day exploring Newport's Back Bay is easy by kayak and a great family activity. Or, since yachting defines Newport Beach you might want to charter a boat or just do a scheduled Harbor cruise or sunset cocktail cruise. Electric boats let you be the captain and gondolas are a great way romantic way to discover the bay. In Dana Point or Newport you can also take sailing lessons or rent them for the day.
Whale and dolphin excursions are fantastic ways to get up close to these incredible creatures in their own habitat with year-round excursions. Seeing the massive whales and frolicking dolphins are a sight everyone should catch in their lifetime.
