Big Bear Offers a
Variety of Activities, Attractions and Events for Free!
BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif./ July 23, 2009
– One of the most attractive incentives in a down economy is to give
something away for free! A stack of freebies awaits guests at Big Bear
Lake to help keep vacation expenses to a minimum.
“Big Bear already provides a close-by affordable getaway, but we feel
it’s important to give our guests plenty of activities, attractions and
events to choose from that are free!” said Rick Shoup, CEO of Big Bear
Lake Resort Association. “Let’s face it when there are free things in
the mix, it gives people more opportunities to save in this down
economy. We want to pick up the tab wherever we can to please our
guests.”
Visitors can enjoy a variety of diversions at absolutely no cost
including family movies on the big screen, live entertainment in the
Village, lakeside barbeque dinners, thirty minute nature walks,
screenings of independent films, a colorful parade on the main drag, a
showcase of antique autos and a free day of fishing. In addition to all
the great happenings in Big Bear this August and September are deep
discounts on accommodations with some lodges offering free nights
specials.
Big Bear Lake Resort Association has positioned Big Bear as “the
vacation that gives back” with its free prepaid Visa card promotion.
Stay overnight at one of Big Bear’s participating lodges and receive up
to $100 to spend anywhere Visa is accepted. Guests booking five or more
nights at a participating lodge receive a free $100 gift card, guests
booking three or four nights receive a complimentary $50 gift card, or
a free $25 gift card for guests booking one or two nights stay at a
participating lodge. The gift card program ends November 23, 2009.
“Simply stay overnight in Big Bear, and we’ll even give you free
spending money,” added Shoup.
Starting in August Big Bear guests have quite a selection of events to
choose from that offer free admission including the 20th Annual Antique
Car Club Fun Run with approximately 500 roadsters, hot rods, classics
and antiques lining the streets of Big Bear Village on August 8 - 9.
