NEWPORT BEACH, Southern California, October 7, 2008 – Opening on the eve of the 2008 holiday season, The Resort at Pelican Hill will offer an incomparable venue for unforgettable holiday parties and other festive events.

The Resort at Pelican Hill opens Nov. 26, 2008. It offers 20,000 square feet of function space, including elegant ballrooms and function rooms in the main hotel as well as a stand-alone event facility called Mar Vista – which has its own arrival area that separates groups from the hotel and allows for more private celebrations.

:  The Resort at Pelican Hill specializes in private dining events, receptions and other corporate holiday functions, held in elegant ocean-view rooms and planned with the highest level of customization. The customization begins with in-depth conversations with the company’s event planner about what they want to accomplish, the style and tone they prefer, what they hope their attendees will experience and take away from the function – and then continues through the planning and implementation of every tiny detail.

Service in particular sets Pelican Hill apart from other hotels and resorts. The staff-to-guest ratio of 10 to one, for example, is approximately 50 percent higher than that of other luxury resorts –  allowing far greater attention to detail and more individualized service. This enables Pelican Hill to offer groups, even in a banquet setting, a five-star restaurant style-experience with entrée choices tableside. The table settings, moreover, which feature Villeroy & Boch china and imported Italian linens such as Rivolta Carmignani, are the most elegant imaginable.

In the main hotel, a variety of beautiful rooms for receptions and parties spill out into the light-filled loggia with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over manicured greens and the blue Pacific. For larger events, the Pacific Ballroom accommodates up to 400 for receptions or 260 for banquets. Andrea, the signature Italian restaurant, features an atmospheric private dining room seating as many as 16 with spectacular ocean panoramas. For a larger group that prefers a private dining room, Pelican Grill at the resort’s golf club seats up to 50.

In Mar Vista, high-ceiling event rooms are filled with light from expansive walls of glass and feature substantial terraces showcasing magnificent ocean and links views – allowing planners to create indoor-outdoor celebrations. La Capella is a charming, one-of-a-kind venue with an iconic bell tower. A verdant and expansive lawn for outdoor events features a dramatic Renaissance rotunda and spectacular coastal vistas.

For those seeking to turn a holiday party into a true get-away, Pelican Hill will inaugurate its new paradigm for luxury and service with two overnight experiences from opening day through Dec. 30, 2008.

The Bungalow Stay includes: accommodations in a luxurious bungalow suite and a Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas dinner feast for two (served during respective night of stay) prepared by Chef Chang Sivilay at the Coliseum Pool & Grill, based on availability, where guests overlook gorgeous vistas, a magnificent backdrop of ocean views and the striking, 136-foot-in- diameter Coliseum Pool. For guests checking-in on days other than the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays, a three-course seasonal chef dinner menu will be prepared for two at the Coliseum restaurant, based on availability.

The Villa Stay includes: accommodations in an ultra-luxurious two-bedroom villa, a Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas dinner feast for four (served during respective night of stay) at the Coliseum Pool & Grill, based on availability, and, for guests checking-in outside of the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays, or for guests checking-in on days other than the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays, a three-course seasonal chef dinner menu will be prepared for four at the Coliseum restaurant, based on availability.

The Bungalow Stay is $695 per night for two people, The Villa Stay $995 per night for four people. Both experiences are offered Nov. 26, 2008 through Dec. 30, 2008. The Thanksgiving feast is only available on Nov. 27, 2008; Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner feasts are only available Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, 2008, respectively.
