Discovery Science Center named one of nation’s best by Parents Magazine
Dino Quest cited among reasons to visit Orange County’s science destination
SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 18, 2008) – Discovery Science Center has been named one of the best science centers in the country by Parents Magazine. Parents Magazine’s September issue, due on newsstands tomorrow, features “The 10 Best Science Centers.” Discovery Science Center came in number 11, topping the list “The Best of the Rest.” In the article, Parents describes Discovery Science Center’s Dino Quest exhibit: “The massive T-Rex replica is fun to look at, but your kids can climb inside an Argentinosaurus to learn about a dino's body.” According to information on the Web site of Meredith, Parents Magazine’s parent company, the publication has a readership of 15 million. “This recognition by Parents Magazine is a testament to our interactive spirit, our connection with the community, our operational excellence and our outstanding staff members,” Joe Adams, Discovery Science Center president, said. “We’ve been successful in refreshing our exhibit offerings and in our education outreach to Southern California school children. Discovery Science Center’s fall lineup includes Masters of the Night: The True Story of Bats opening Oct. 4, and The Science of Gingerbread opening Nov. 24. Located at 2500 N. Main St. in Santa Ana, Calif., Taco Bell Discovery Science Center is Orange County’s leading destination for hands-on science fun. Guests can explore more than 100 hands-on science exhibits in themed areas: Discovery Stadium, Techno Arts, Air & Space, Perception, Dynamic Earth, Quake Zone, KidStation, the Digital Lab and Dino Quest.
Taco Bell Discovery Science Center admission is $12.95 for adults, $9.95 for children ages three to 17. Ages 2 and under, as well as Science Center members, are admitted free. The Dino Quest exhibit is included in the cost of admission. To get in the game, guests may rent an infrared transmitter at the cost of $4 for members and $5 for non-members.
