Aquarium of the Pacific Night Dive

Event date:
February 10, 2012
Event description:

You can enjoy a cocktail and flirt among the fishes during the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Valentine’s Day themed Night Dive. Join the crowd along with the 11,000 Aquarium animals for an evening of unique opportunities that explore how romance brews beneath the sea. The Aquarium will feature live music performed by bands and DJs, specialty cocktails, gourmet lunch trucks, a live art exhibition by 25 artists curated by Mark Olivas of Unincorporated Artists Management, and a free photo booth.
In addition to all the entertaining events, the Aquarium will host educational lectures focused on the wonderfully bizarre and unique mating rituals of marine animals.  Attendees will hear from ocean explorer Scott Cassell and Aquarium animal care experts. He will share details about his amazing diving experiences with the elusive Humboldt squid and will discuss how these giant creatures find a mate, steal a mate, and blush their way into courtship.  Attendees will also be able to take part in squid dissections being hosted in the Aquarium’s classrooms and dive deeper into the inner workings of these slippery animals.
