AOCVCB Hires New Convention Sales Director

Harriet Porter, convention sales directorThe Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau (AOCVCB) hired Harriet Porter as the newest member of the convention sales team.  This is the final position filled following a recent sales team realignment, organizing the sales team of 12 people into two targeted segments – citywide conventions and meetings.

Ms. Porter joined the Bureau’s citywide sales team headed by Jim Kissinger, vice president of convention sales, on August 7, 2006.  Previously the director of sales at the Hilton Suites Anaheim/Orange, Porter brings more than 15 years of hotel industry experience, including sales positions at the Anaheim Hilton, Sheraton Long Beach, The Sutton Place Hotel Newport Beach and the Westin South Coast Plaza.  “Harriet’s familiarity with the Anaheim/Orange County area and her strong existing client relationships are valuable assets to our team,” stated Kissinger.

Porter’s responsibilities include managing and developing national corporate accounts and representing the Bureau at Meeting Planners International shows and other corporate events.  “We look forward to continuing our growth as a desirable corporate meeting destination with the completion of several of Anaheim’s exciting new developments on the horizon and Harriet in the lead,” explained Mark Podolski, executive vice president of convention sales and marketing, AOCVCB.

Harriet is a board member of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International’s (HSMAI) Orange County chapter and a graduate of the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom.
