AOCVCB Appoints Executive Vice President of Convention Sales & Marketing

Mark Podolski, executive vice president of convention sales and marketing The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau is pleased to announce Mark Podolski, CMP as the executive vice president of convention sales & marketing for the AOCVCB.  In this new Bureau position Mr. Podolski will direct overall convention and group sales efforts, including association, regional and corporate accounts, as well as oversee wide-ranging group marketing programs.

Mr. Podolski brings more than 25 years of direct hotel sales and marketing experience to this position.  He was most recently the sales & marketing director at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa.  Prior to that he helped open the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa in La Jolla, Calif.  He also served as director of sales for Orange County’s brand new Five-Diamond St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa in Dana Point, Calif.

His visitor industry background includes related positions with the Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Chicago, Ill., the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Rancho Mirage, Calif., and the Marriott Desert Springs & Rancho Las Palmas Resorts in Palm Springs, Calif.

We are looking forward to having him add a new dimension of leadership to our many sales and marketing initiatives.”

Mr. Podolski will lead a staff of twelve in sales and head all convention, group sales and marketing efforts, as well as oversee convention services and housing efforts on behalf of the Bureau.
