Festivals Podcast: 39th Annual Dana Point Festival of Whales 2010

The Dana Point Festival of Whales celebrates 39 years in 2010. The free festival is a celebration of the roundtrip migration of the California Gray Whale from Alaska to Baja and includes an art show, street faire, parade, sand sculptures, whale watching tours, and sailing and rowing instruction. We talk to Donna Kalez, General Manager of Dana Wharf Whale Watching and festival co-chair, about the celebration, its unique events and their partnership with iconic artist John Van Hamersveld and legendary surfer, Mickey "the mongoose" Munoz. We also hear historic perspective from festival co-founder Don Hansen. This year's Dana Point Festival of Whales takes place March 6-7, & 13-14. (Added January 2010 - Run Time: 5:35)
