Considered a "critical estuary" habitat - Upper Newport Bay is one of the most pristine remaining estuaries in Southern California.

tidepool Crystal Cove State Park features 3.5 miles of coastline and acres of undeveloped woodland. OC’s largest park is Caspers Wilderness Park in San Juan Capistrano with its 30 miles of wilderness trails.
