Tasteful outings

Many of the finest restaurants, companies and sponsors, on behalf of the city of Anaheim, will put their best plate forward during the 13th Annual Taste of Anaheim. More than 40 eateries are exptected to participte. The yearly food extravaganza takes place June 26, 2008.

Turkey legs, roasted corn, funnel cakes and skewers, oh my! Though the theme for the 116th Annual Orange County Fair is "Say Cheese," it has nothing to do with the smorgasbord of food offerings that dedicated fair goers look forward to year after year.

 The 20th Annual Taste of Newport, September 19-21, is held at Fashion Island in picturesque Newport Beach. The event will feature an array of unique and gourmet foods from local restaurants and chefs and will also include hands-on activities and live musical entertainment.

Promising a wide variety of international cuisine, the 2008 theme for the Orange International Street Fair is "Around the World in 3 Days!" Held during Labor Day weekend, the fair is free, though Ethnic Street, Arts and Crafts and Children's Street set their own fees and rates for participating in the Fair. 

Get your "oompah-pa" on at the Old World Village Oktoberfest, in Huntington Beach, September 7, through October 26, 2008. The festival brings the wonderous tastes of authentic German and Austrian cuisines right from the heart of Europe to sunny OC.
