Anaheim Convention Center Timeline
 
  • 1961: The Anaheim Area Visitor Bureau opens for business with the responsibilty of marketing the Anaheim area as a business and leisure destination.
 
  • 1967: The Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) opens July 12 with 400,000 square-feet, at a cost of $14.5 million. Weeklong festivals include concerts by The Jefferson Airplane and The Doors.
 
  • 1974: The first ACC expansion (Hall B) adds approximately 135,000 square-feet at a cost of $16.9 million.
 
  • 1982: (Hall C) adds 150,000 square-feet at a cost of $17.7 million.
 
  • 1990: (Hall D) adds 158,000 square-feet at a cost of $33 million.
 
  • 1993: (Hall E) adds 150,000 square-feet at a cost of $8 million.
 
  • 2000: The ACC unveils it's fifth and most ambitious expansion December 28th, adding 40% more meeting and exhibit space and a dramatic new landmark facade.
 
  • 2007/2008: The ACC unveils a $4.1 million renovation to the aesthetics of the Katella Avenue entrance, including a welcoming fountain centerpiece. Additionally, the Arena's exterior receives a dramatic update to incorporate glass elements from the Center's facade.


The Anaheim Convention Center is the largest convention center on the west coast with 1.6 million square-feet of meeting and exhibition space. It is the cornerstone of the 1,100 acre Anaheim Resort District, which also contains the Disneyland® Resort and the new Anaheim GardenWalk.
